Eva Amurri shares her breakfast pizza recipe for Father's Day

With Father’s Day being celebrated this weekend, I thought it would be prime time to introduce you all to one of our favorite recent recipes we’ve been loving as a family: Breakfast Pizza! Most of the dads I know LOVE pizza, and it’s easy to make the dads in your lives a delicious and gourmet pizza right from home. We’ve gotten into grilling pizzas recently and it’s surprisingly simple. You can either make them on the actual grill like I showed in this blog post or you can simply put the dough in a sheet pan like I’m showing with this one! Both are super easy and take no time at all. My best recommendation, though, is to put the sheet pan in the oven as it preheats so that the dough gets that crispiness on the bottom. Make sure you’re careful when you’re handling it because it will be hot!

For our Breakfast Pizza, we love using sausage, egg, cheese, and caramelized onions. This combo is SO yummy and feels a little more gourmet than the average breakfast. If you’re dairy-free (like me!) you can use dairy-free cheese on just one section, or the whole thing. This pizza is so delicious and combines the yumminess of pizza with that cozy feeling of a full lumberjack breakfast. And guys LOVE it. I like to serve this with hot sauce drizzle for the grownups!

Let me know if you end up making this for Father’s Day, or even for Breakfast-For-Dinner nights!

Breakfast Pizza

Step 1:

Prep the Pan and Dough

Lightly grease the baking sheet and then place your pizza dough ball onto it. Begin to roll the dough out so that it fills the entire sheet. Once the dough has been rolled out, pinch the dough up along the edges, forming what will be the crust. Once you have done this all the way around the dough, take a basting brush and brush olive oil along the crust. Lastly, you will gently poke holes using a fork in the crust to prevent it from forming bubbles.

Step 2:

Bake the Crust

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Place the prepped crust into the oven for 7-8 minutes until lightly browned and then remove from the oven.

Step 3:

Add Toppings and Bake Until Cooked

Now that the crust is lightly browned, add your toppings. Once the toppings have been added on, place the pizza in the oven to cook for another 7-8 minutes. After it has been cooked to your liking, serve it to dad on Father’s Day morning!
