Eva Amurri shares her Sicily Packing List

The time has finally come to pack for our trip to Sicily! Eeeeeeek! I am so excited for this trip, I can hardly contain it. It’s been so so long since I’ve been anywhere overseas (the last time was literally when I got pregnant with Mateo), and it’s going to be the first time that Ian and I go on a vacation together without the kids! Trips like this are such a milestone in a relationship, and I can’t wait to explore a place we’ve never been together and experience something new. I love adventures.

We picked Sicily because we wanted to go to Italy together, and Sicily is a place that I have a deep-rooted connection to, though I haven’t been since I was a small child (and I don’t remember it!) My Mother’s side of the family is from Ragusa, Sicily…and we still have relatives there! We plan to rent a car and drive all over the area for 8 days, stopping every day or two in a different town. I’m really looking forward to not having too many concrete plans on the itinerary and allowing ourselves to see where the breeze takes us. One thing that’s tough when you’re traveling with kids is needing meals and sleep schedules etc to be so perfectly planned for the entire family to have a good experience. When you’re not with kids, you don’t have to worry about any of that, and I’m looking forward to the break!

I will definitely be sharing a BIG blog post with everything we did when I get back. I also plan to share some Instagram stories at the end of every day there, but I’m trying not to spend too much time on my phone. Ian got an incredible camera to take pics while we’re there too– so I can’t wait to see what he comes up with! Let me know if you have any must-do’s for Sicily in the comments below!

In terms of packing, this has been a really fun suitcase to fill. LOL. I’m bringing a mix of dresses, and cute outfits with pants…and one pair of jeans. Plus flats ONLY. Italy is an incredibly beautiful country, and one of my favorite things is how the streets are still cobblestoned and the sense of history is preserved. I want to make sure I’m comfortable enough every day to explore! I’m sharing my packing list below, to give you a glimpse of what I’ll be wearing on my trip.

Just got back! In Ragusa, walked for miles around the beautiful, winding streets and had a fabulous lunch at Ciccio Sultano. Don’t miss the ceramic steps of Caltagirone. Don’t miss the market and the Piazza Duomo in Ortigia — stop in to take a look at the jewelry at Massimo Izzo. The ruins and Greek Theatre of Syracusa were also super interesting. We stayed at Baglio Occhipinti in Vittoria. It was lovely. Have so much fun!!
