Wintertime treats are a favorite of mine since getting through the long and dark months of the year can feel like a personal challenge. I’ve never been officially “diagnosed” with Seasonal Affective Disorder but just by living with myself the last (almost) 37 years, I can tell you that my mood takes major dips in January, February, and March of ANY year. The short days and the cold temperatures are super hard for me. I don’t know if you can relate too, but one thing that gets me through the harder days is creating small moments of joy to look forward to. Extra points if they’re moments of joy that can be shared! That was the idea behind these super cute, and delicious, Hot Chocolate Bombs that we made! Valentine’s Day is only a few short days away, so feel free to create these as a perfect Galentine’s Treat….or be like me and make them to enjoy at home with your own fam!
My kids love plopping these into a steamy cup of milk, giving a stir, and watching the hot chocolate and marshmallows “explode” in their cups, then swirl all around to make the yummiest hot chocolate. You could even fill these with hot cocoa and lucky charms marshmallows for St. Patty’s Day Hot Chocolate Bombs! Whatever way you use these, I hope they bring you a lot of coziness and a nice smile.
