Eva Amurri shares her fall plans for this year

Fall is such a fun time of year for us as a family, and after our pretty unsettling summer, it’s been nice to dive headfirst into planning the best Fall ever! I love that it’s much more comfortable to spend time outside with kids during the autumn months, and there are tons to do around where we live. We have a couple of pretty meaningful plans this Fall, some purely fun adventures, and lots to look forward to. Today, I thought I’d share our Fall plans with you guys, and I’d love to hear about anything great that you and your family are looking forward to this Fall as well! It’s nice to focus on the beautiful things on the horizon, big or small.

MAJOR’S BIRTHDAY

Major turns six on October 19th, and we’re all so excited! We’re having a bowling birthday party for him this year. Stay tuned for more on that!

BIG HAIR CHANGE

I’m going to go through a big hair transformation on October 4th, which is also my Mom’s birthday! I can’t wait to show you guys what I decided to do. Eeeek!

THE BALLET

Ian and I have season tickets to the New York City Ballet, and we get so excited to attend the performances! It’s always so magical in the Fall when you can walk out onto the balcony at Lincoln Center during intermission and it’s still warm enough outside to take a walk after the show.

HALLOWEEN

We are big-time Halloween enthusiasts in our home, and Mateo might be the number one fan! We are all so excited about the Holiday this year. I’m hoping I can get it together to host something fun at my house, too. Stay tuned!

TOWN SOCCER

Marlowe plays soccer, and we love attending her games as a family! It’s gotten a lot more exciting this year because they’re mixing 3rd and 4th-grade girls together on teams, and playing with bigger fields and the real rules of the game…so it’s a bit more like the real thing!

HERE COMES THE BRIDE

My longtime photographer and dear friend Julia Dags is getting married next month! I can hardly think about it without tearing up, so let’s see how I hold up at the actual wedding. LOL

THE JACK-O-LANTERN BLAZE

One of our favorite festive experiences during the fall is The Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze in Croton-on-Hudson NY. It’s a walk-through, evening spectacle of thousands of jack-o-lanterns carved into incredible candle-lit displays. It’s hard to describe but truly a MUST.

APPLE PICKING

We missed out on apple picking last year and totally regretted it. This year we’re excited to go pick our own with the whole family in tow!

NYC WITH GIRLFRIENDS

I have a couple of dates on the books to explore new things popping up in the city with my girlfriends! I love trying new restaurants and checking out exhibits I haven’t seen before, so I’m really looking forward to this!

NUTCRACKER REHEARSALS

Major will be playing an Angel in a local production of the Nutcracker this fall! He’s so excited and will be rehearsing all Fall for a performance just after Thanksgiving.

THANKSGIVING TRIP

We’ll be on the road for Thanksgiving this year, joining our family at my Mom’s new home to celebrate! It’ll be our first time there, and we’re excited!
