Mother’s Day is coming up, which as you all know, is one of my most favorite days of the year! I truly believe there should be weekly national celebrations for Mothers, so I tend to go all-out for our one annual national holiday! I just love the weeks leading up to Mother’s Day, and all the thought and talk about Motherhood, Mothering, and that completely revolutionary experience that is nurturing children. You don’t have to birth somebody to mother them, and you most certainly don’t have to come to Motherhood in a traditional way. I love the many ways people experience this holiday and all of the nuance of it. I also know that this holiday can be really tough for some people. I honor those people as well, and the healing journey that is ALSO so brave and inspiring. This day can mean all the things, and maybe that’s why I love it so much.
