I’m not one to stick my nose up at a viral trend, and the newest Pasta Chips trend had me perplexed. I will go on record as saying that I am a pasta-lover extraordinaire. As an Italian girl, my blood is definitely partially made up of liquid pasta. It’s just the meal that I feel most comfortable eating, and that satisfies me no matter WHAT it’s made with.
Improving on pasta just seems like a losing game. But once I watched some videos it was clear that the joy of Air Fryer Pasta Chips is in the fact that pasta becomes a party snack! Highly shareable, no fork needed, and cuter than chips. Well, in my humble opinion, anyway, LOL. All you need is pasta and an air fryer! Plus a few herbs and some extra virgin olive oil.
I’ve also included a recipe for a whipped marinara dip that I made for my pasta chips and ended up LOVING. It’s a nice compliment to the crunchy pasta! Ultimately, I ended up liking the pasta chips, but it might just be because I love pasta. LOL. Full disclosure, not all of my kids liked these. Marlowe was a little confused and ended up not being a fan. Major ate them happily, and Mateo eats everything that’s not nailed down. Ha!

Ingredients…
(Serves 4)
For the Pasta Chips…
- 16 oz. Pasta (of your choice…I used Farfalle)
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp Italian Seasoning Blend
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
For the Whipped Marinara Dip…
- 1 cup Ricotta (I used Vegan Ricotta made with Almond Milk)
- ¾ cup Marinara Sauce (I use my Red Sauce Recipe, or store-bought)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 4-5 fresh Basil leaves
- 1 pinch Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
Step 1
Cook Pasta
Begin by preheating your air fryer to 350º F. Meanwhile, cook the pasta as per package directions, until al dente.
Step 2
Mix
Drain the pasta and add to a large mixing bowl, and set aside. In a small bowl, mix together the Olive Oil, Italian Seasoning Blend, Salt, Pepper, and Red Pepper Flakes (if using) and set aside.
Step 3
Combine
Add the spices from the small bowl to the large bowl with the pasta, and toss together until well coated and combined.
Step 4
Air Fry
Once the air fryer is full heated, place the pasta in the air fryer basket in batches. You don’t want them too packed in there. (I made my batch of chips in thirds.) Air fry for 10 minutes per batch. Halfway through cooking each batch, open the fryer basket, and carefully shake it to redistribute the chips.
Step 5
Serve
When each batch is done, dump the pasta chips into a serving bowl. Repeat until finished and enjoy immediately!
Step 1
Blend
Place all the ingredients into a blender, and pulse well until combined.
Step 3
Serve
Serve at room temperature, or slightly warmed. Enjoy!
