Eva Amurri shares her favorite tennis finds.

A few years ago, I hit a wall. We had just moved to a new home, and between setting it up for our family, balancing work and three kids, plus trying to uphold personal relationships– I had lost track of myself. I was pouring vapors from an empty cup, and I knew something had to give. I remember sobbing to my husband that I felt like a shell of myself, and I didn’t even feel like I was living life anymore. He immediately told me that I needed a hobby. STAT. Something completely unrelated to work, that was only for myself. I agreed, but truly didn’t know where to start.

I grew up playing tennis. My father’s side of the family is really athletic, and I would always play when I was in Italy or take lessons. I continued to play as a teenager, for fun, and I even entered my camp tournament as a teen! Tennis is big in the suburbs, and a lot of women I knew played weekly– but I felt so intimidated to pick it up again after not playing for so long. As if by magic, right around that time, a girlfriend of mine told me there was an opening in her weekly tennis group. I saw it as the perfect, albeit intimidating, opportunity to find my tennis game again as well as bake in some socialization outside the house. Extra points for being able to move my body while doing it! That one small adjustment has made ALL the difference in my weekly experience over the last few years! I now play at least an hour and a half of tennis every week.

Tennis is an incredible sport, especially because you can slay as hard as it when you’re 60 as you can when you’re 16! It’s mentally challenging, can be physically moderate, and it’s also a ton of fun. You probably didn’t know how much tennis I play in my free time, and that’s been on purpose! I promised myself I would put my phone down when I picked the racquet up. But now that it’s my favorite season of the year– Outdoor Tennis Season– I knew I had to share just a bit of this journey with you guys.

Since I’m out here shopping for some fun additions to my tennis wardrobe, I thought I’d gather up some of my favorite options for you here. I’m putting my favorites below, but be sure to check out the entire HEA Tennis Shoppe I built out HERE!
