Patterned Decor Pieces I Love

The Study Nook inside Eva Amurri Martino's Westport CT home

I’ve been getting a lot of questions these days to share home decor pieces I love! If you haven’t noticed by now, I have a pretty eclectic home style. I LOVE really classic and timeless bones, but with a more modern twist. And I almost never met a pattern I didn’t like. Prints are kind of my thing, especially mixing prints!

I get so many questions about how to use or mix prints in your home, and I promise it isn’t as intimidating as it looks. The real key is to choose a selective color palette, and to use prints that are different, but incorporate those same few colors. Also, experiment with mixing smaller prints and bigger prints.

For example: mix a blue and white gingham or floral with a bigger blue and white print like a toile or paisley. If mixing prints with pillows, throw in a solid patterned pillow that pulls out one of the main colors you’re using in your palette to ground it all a bit more.

Today, I thought I would share some patterned decor pieces that I’m swooning over right now. Pattern play in homes is making a big comeback, and it’s a great way to freshen up your space, or give it a bit of an edge. Let me know which items are your favorites!

I have this awesome optical inlay desk in the study nook I created for the kids, and I love it! It’s so chic and really makes a statement without being too over the top. I love the different colorways it comes in, too!

Rifle Paper Co. for Anthropologie Garden Party Monogram Mug

If a patterned mug is as adventurous as you’re willing to be, choose this one! I have these and they’re even prettier in person!

This southwestern inspired pillow is a statement all on its own, and works even in a more neutral space. Plus, it comes in this gorgeous grey or a more tonal beige colorway.

Opalhouse Platform Bed

I’m pretty obsessed with this peacock patterned upholstered bed that adds just enough whimsy to a room. Plus, it’s Targé!!!!

All Roads Yucca Pillow

These gorgeous textured pillows are dupes for the Restoration Hardware ones I have in my bedroom. It comes in three varied versions to mix and match! They aren’t overpowering, since they’re tonal.

Jimena Occasional Chair

This artisinal chair is so bright and fun, and reminds me of a great piece of folk art. I have it in the study nook, and it’s so comfortable! It comes in three different colorway “stories”, including a bird version, a unicorn, and a peacock.

Semi-Sheer Clipped Jacquard Curtain

These jacquard sheer curtains are a great way to layer pattern in to a room. They’ll dress up even the most blah set of windows!

Decoupage Geo Trays

These geometric trays are a fun, midcentury way to play with pattern on a coffee table, bedside table, or desk. The collection is also a beautiful study in mixing prints successfully!

Leopard Print Rug

Raise your hand if you consider leopard print a neutral! This abstract leopard print rug is SO cool, and since it’s technically “for kids”, the price point is great. I’d use this in an office, bedroom, or closet!

Mai Blue Floral Plate

I’m officially FREAKING OUT over this dishware collection. The indigo floral and mixed print is too beautiful!!! I ordered immediately, obviously.

Moreau 36"x16" Pillows

If you’re into stripes, but looking for something a little more dynamic, this collection of striped lumbar pillows is so stunning and chic! Plus, they’re currently on mega sale.

Just noticed this but is that art behind the desk in your living room a picture of you. It’s a cool piece!

I love mixing prints too. It’s hard to make a space seem cozy with just solids.
