Outdoor Glow Up Ideas

We’ve lived in our new home for about almost a year and a half, and while I have prioritized the design of every single room inside my home, it wasn’t until we were self-isolating that I realized I forgot about the outside. Whoops, LOL! Now that I’m spending so much time in my backyard, I decided it was finally time to start thinking about outdoor furniture.

If you own a home or apartment with an outdoor space, patio furniture is always something that I recommend saving for and investing in, since well-made pieces will last you for years if not decades. If you’re renting, pass on the pricey furniture and just go with something that will hold up year-round.

2020 is serving up some pretty strong outdoor furniture and decor vibes, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite pieces from the three that are speaking to me the most: Scandinavian, Moroccan, and Industrial Chic! I’ve also included different price points for the big-ticket items because patio furniture can be really, really, really expensive

Scandinavian design (or Scandi as some like to call it) is known for its clean lines and neutral colors, and for its love of natural wood. I fell in love with this 3-Piece Sofa Set from Frontgate and had to order it for my patio near our outdoor fireplace immediately. This past fall, I threw a movie night party back there and ordered bean bag chairs to sit on because I was afraid to commit to actual patio furniture, so let me tell you: Mama is thrilled to have a real sofa to place her butt in and read a book! Below are my favorite Scandi outdoor pieces. Scroll through each category for options in other price points!

Moroccan inspired outdoor spaces have been popular for ages. Because of its location, Moroccan decor was influenced by Persia, France, Spain, and Africa, and the combination is colorful, patterned, elegant, and relaxed. I love all the floor pillows and poufs that you can accessorize this vibe with!

Industrial Chic has come for the outdoors, and I, for one, am here for it! It uses unexpected materials and a hint of masculinity…a.k.a.: chic AF!

These are my favorite pieces…
