Interior style and decoration has a lot to do with the main components of a room, but it has just as much to do with the details! When we think about making our rooms feel designed and special, we may start by thinking of the furniture. Maybe the rug, the paint colors, the lighting…how are those big pieces arranged in a room? What are the colors and textures? How do you play with scale? But time and time again, I always find myself the most drawn to the details. The objects and books on the bookshelves, the towels in the bathroom, the trays or picture frames. For me, a home that really knocks it out of the park has little things sprinkled throughout that have character, and personality, and tell a story.
I personally love collecting things for my home on my travels here and there and then mixing those things in with store-bought details. And you’d be surprised how something simple and fabulous from an inexpensive store can mix beautifully with something more special and high-end. I find high-low style to be where it’s at with fashion, and I feel the same way about home. Sometimes just switching up a few little things in a room can change the entire feeling of a space and really elevate itβ without having to do too much! Today, I thought I’d share some of my favorite little things for the home that can spruce up your spaces.
