Eva Amurri shares her Berry Trifle Recipe for Mothers Day

Throwing together a sweet and thoughtful Mother’s Day celebration doesn’t have to be hard! As a Mom myself, I can wholeheartedly say that it really is the thought that counts. And watching your loved ones put together something that took ANY level of planning is always so heartwarming as a Mom! Handmade gifts, treats, and special experiences are always at the top of my list of things I’d love to receive. One of the things we love doing as a family is enjoying a special meal for Mother’s Day. I’ve shared my ideal Mother’s Day brunch menu on this blog before, but it’s just as nice to organize a great lunch or a really delicious dinner to celebrate the day!

We are going to have a really nice dinner with the kiddos this Mother’s Day (Ian’s surprise, so I don’t know the menu yet!) but one thing I knew I had to make was my favorite Berry Trifle for dessert! My kids absolutely LOVE this dessert, and it’s so nice to make it during the warmer months of the year when berries are at their best. I love that this trifle is so simple to make, and looks way more impressive than it is! It would also make a lovely contribution to a brunch or gathering that you’re attending this Mother’s Day. Let me know if you make this, and how you like it!

Make Pudding

In your mixing bowl, whisk the milk and pudding mix together for a couple of minutes or until firm and set aside.

Step 2:

Mix and Fold

In a separate bowl, add yogurt, cream cheese, and sour cream and beat until smooth. Fold in the pudding and 1 cup of the whipped topping.

Step 3:

Cut your Angel Food Cake into cubes.

Step 4:

Build Your Trifle

Place a layer of angel food cake cubes at the bottom of your trifle dish to start. Next, add a layer of the pudding, cool whip mixture. The last layer is a mixture of your berries. Repeat until you get to the top.

Step 5:

Finish and Top

Once you build your trifle and you are at the top, finish it off with the remaining pudding and cool whip mixture. Top with the remaining fresh berries and serve to mom!
