I grew up with Valentine’s Day being a big deal in my house! My Mom always did something special for us, and we made handmade cards as a family to give to each other and our nearest and dearest. We also sent out a Valentine’s Day holiday card instead of a Christmas one! When I was a kid, I didn’t really get it and always asked why we couldn’t just send out a Christmas Card like all of the other families I knew. My Mom would always say that not only was it the absolutely worst time of the year to add something else to her plate, but that people actually loved getting a little surprise in February…long after most people stopped sending mail for the holidays.
Now, as an adult, I totally get that! I save myself the hassle at Christmas and I do the exact same thing. We just shot our Valentine’s Day card yesterday, and it was the first one that Ian is a part of with us, as a complete family. It was so sweet to shoot, and I can’t wait to send it out to our friends and family so soon!
