If you’ve been anywhere near the Northeast lately, you know that Mother Nature has had… opinions this summer. We originally planned to shoot this edit outdoors (picture: long table, golden hour, the whole dreamy thing), but the rain had other plans. So we brought everything inside, and you know what? The place settings brought the sunshine indoors all on their own. Sometimes a gorgeous tablescape doesn’t need a sunset behind it to make a statement.
One of my very favorite things to do each season is round up the entertaining pieces I’m genuinely reaching for over and over again. I love filling this house with friends and family, I love a beautifully set table, and I really love when those two things come together without me running around like a crazy person trying to make it all work. These are the pieces that make it feel effortless (even when it’s not).
And here’s the thing: if you’ve been on the fence about investing in a few great entertaining pieces, now is absolutely still the time. If this fall is anything like last year, we’ll be dining al fresco and hosting well into September. Think of these as warm-weather staples with a very long shelf life. Summer isn’t going anywhere just yet, and neither is the excuse to gather the people you love around a beautiful table.
