Eva Amurri shares The Pear Sparkler cocktail recipe

“Dry January” is drawing to a close…for the many people I know who are participating in Dry January. I personally have been having something akin to the Opposite Of Dry January. Between the domestic terrorism at the Capitol, and the stressors of long days spent indoors with three children…my end of day cocktail has become one of my favorite things! LOL. (Also: Ahhhhhhhh!)

Today, I’m sharing a recipe that I’m LOVING right now, and I thought it would be the perfect way for those of you who are participating in a Dry January to break the seal on Feb 1! It’s also really easy to make into a Mocktail, so there’s that. I call this recipe the Pear Sparkler Cocktail because it feels like a celebration with its topper of bubbles! And it just so happens to be my favorite color: pink!

This cocktail incorporates fresh pear purée, which is just so delicious. It’s crucial for the taste to use pear that is ripe, though, so if you can’t find any I would recommend going with store-bought pear purée. To make the pear purée fresh, you simply peel and core a ripe pear, add to a blender with 1/4 cup water, and blend!

To Make As A Mocktail: Substitute all the alcohol with club soda, and add a squeeze of lemon!
