Eva Amurri shares her new role and travel must haves

The cat is officially out of the bag! I am doing a recurring role on Fox’s new show, “Monarch”, which is premiering this January! To say I’m excited is an understatement. And it’s even more exciting that I get to share the role with my very own Mama! My Mom and I have played the same character before, in Adam Sandler’s “That’s My Boy”, but that was a campy comedy and this is much different! When my Mom first read the script and met with the team of creators, she told them “Man, the younger version of Dottie gets to do so many juicy amazing things…who gets to play the younger version??” She told me they were all quiet, and then somebody said “Actually, we were going to see if Eva can do it.” She was like UM YEAH! Hahaha. Obviously, I have my hands full at the moment with HEA, the kiddos, and the new collection dropping this fall. I’m SO GRATEFUL to the crew and creators of “Monarch” who have been super flexible with me as I navigate the dates I have free this fall and winter to be able to be a part of this awesome project! I am honored that they’re believing in me to bring the young version of this awesome character to life.

Dottie Cantrell Roman, I will do my best to shine as you!!!!! LOL.

Because my role exists in flashback only, it’s been super fun to get all decked out in period clothes, wigs, and fab makeup. There ain’t nothin’ like playin a country music queen, let me tell ya! I’ve even gotten to work on a Texas accent for this role, which has been a dream of mine. It’s my first acting role working with an accent! All in all, this opportunity has been fun, exciting, a little exhausting (hello, travel), and UNFORGETTABLE. I really can’t wait for you all to see this show in January…it’s truly going to be FABULOUS! With all the back and forth recently, I figured that I would share some of my most valued travel must haves. I’ve traveled a lot my entire life, and now I’m back at it! Here are some of the things that make me calm, organized, and comfortable as I travel from here to there.
