Now that my hair is finally long again, I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with different hairstyles and wearing my hair in different ways. Without a lot of other things going on (Hello, pandemic) and most of the time spent in loungewear, it’s a nice way to mix things up! I’ve recently gone back to wearing a hairstyle I used to wear a ton in my early twenties: the half pony!
I think this style is so cute and youthful, and with the face-framing pieces in the front, it gives me some fun 70’s vibes.
I think this hairstyle is a really fun way to make any look seem a little more casual or youthful. It can totally work on second or third-day hair, but if you’re pairing it with a more polished outfit, make sure to give yourself a blowout or to pass a flat iron through your hair to make the strands smooth and glossy. I love the Harry Josh hair dryer, with a boar bristle round brush, and then the Dry Bar curling iron to create the face-framing waves. I love this curling iron because it heats up almost instantly so you can use it right away.
I hope you enjoy this Half Pony Hair Tutorial video! Let me know if you have any other questions…
