Eva Amurri shares her boys' bathroom reveal

You’ve probably heard of a Jack and Jill Bathroom before…but have you ever heard of a Jack and Jack Bathroom?! LOL. Now you have! And I’m about to show you all the details! If you don’t know what a Jack and Jill bathroom is, it’s a bathroom in between two bedrooms, with both rooms having access. It’s a great en-suite alternative for kids’ rooms and can be really convenient. When we were touring our house, we saw the two bedrooms with a connecting bathroom, and we knew it would be perfect for our boys! Major and Mateo share this bathroom now, and it inspired me to make it super special.

I love dressing up a bathroom, mostly because I think most bathrooms benefit so much from a little design love. The room was very clean and simple when we moved in. I liked the bathroom tile, and the grey vanities, but I wanted it to feel more special. There’s also only one window to light the entire space, so keeping it feeling light and airy was a must. For low light spaces, wallpaper is usually my solution!

I knew I wanted to find a great wallpaper, but I needed it to be something that wasn’t TOO juvenile so that the boys would be able to grow with the space. I also had to contend with both boys having wallpapers in their bedrooms, so the bathroom wallpaper couldn’t clash with one of those, either! Whenever I’m searching for something bold, and graphic, but also elegant, I know I have to search through Hygge & West!

Hygge & West is a wallpaper brand that I’ve been using in my homes for YEARS. Their “strike” wallpaper was in my glam room in our very first home in Connecticut, and it’s still one of my favorites! I love their papers so much because there is truly something for everyone- and every project! From graphic neutrals to Maximalist designs, florals, and even murals, Hygge & West brings together gorgeous prints and elevated color palettes for wallpaper that makes a big impact. When I saw their “Daydream” wallpaper, I knew it was absolutely perfect for this bathroom. I love the birds and the fact that it is masculine without being too on the nose about it. I also felt like it was a nice departure from a nautical theme, while still having the same classic feeling. To be honest with you, the hardest part was deciding on the colorway because there are so many choices! (PS- I also LOVE the red colorway!)

I kept the rest of the bathroom really simple and made a shade with a similar cloud-like pattern. I continued the black and white vibes down to a ruggable rug, which is perfect because it can be easily cleaned. I love how simple, modern, and bright this bathroom turned out. And the boys love it, too!

I’ve put all the design details below, but let me know if you have any particular questions!

    • I haven’t put a bar up because the boys don’t shower in here yet, only baths. Eventually I’ll add a shower curtain or glass
