School is around the corner! Where has the summer gone?! As quickly as the “time off” seemed to flash by, I can tell that Marlowe and Major have definitely been craving a bit more structure, as well as being surrounded by their friends once more! What can I say, their parents can only be so entertaining, and the novelty has officially worn off! LOL. It’ll be nice to get back into a routine as well. This back-to-school season is especially exciting because my second child is beginning Kindergarten! Marlowe and Major will (finally) be in the same school together, and on the same schedule and I could not be more relieved! We loved Major’s preschool, but because it was technically a private school, the kids were on a completely different schedule than at Marlowe’s public school. It made all breaks and long weekends extra complicated. Now there is just one calendar to look at, and it’s much simpler to do drop off AND pick up at the end of the day. It feels like a new era is beginning! Well, at least until Mateo starts preschool. Ha!
Major is beyond ecstatic to be in elementary school, and I think Marlowe is just as excited to have him there all day. Now her reign over him at home can continue during school time hours! LOL. But actually. It’s so funny how I overhear her already telling him how she’s going to show him the ropes and teach him all about the best lunches to order in the cafeteria. I don’t dare tell her the day will come in a few years that some of “her” friends end up befriending him also, and complicating her life somewhat…the perils of having young and adorable little brothers!
Now that I’ve been sending the kids Back To School for more than a few years, I feel very comfortable with my list of to-do’s to get my ducks in a row before the first day! We have the products we know and love, and the things we return to again and again. Today, I’m sharing my list of Back To School Essentials! Let me know if there’s anything not on this list that you swear by. I’m always so grateful to you guys for opening my eyes to products that aren’t on my radar!
Be Packed- Kawaii-Round The World
$110
My kids love Jujube backpacks the MOST. They’re super comfortable because they have foam padding that helps cushion the load and lots of helpful pockets. Marlowe loves the Tokidoki prints, and Major picked this neon green which honestly I want to steal for myself!
Small Rectangle Labels
$16.80
We’ve been using Mabel’s Labels for years. They’re very sturdy and hold up on our water bottles after literal YEARS of going in the dishwasher. Plus, you can customize the emoji and the color story! 10/10 recommend.
Contigo Kids' Water Bottle
$24.71
Contigo water bottles are my go-to. They’re BPA-free, clean easily in the dishwasher, and they DO NOT SPILL. I always send my kids to school and camp with them!
Mechanical Pencils
$3.94
We learned this past year that both of my older kids write much more clearly with mechanical pencils. I make sure I’m stocked up so they can use them at school, and at home for homework!
Stainless Steel Bento Lunch Box
$76.65
Both my kids will buy lunch at school this year, but when I sent them to school with lunch in years past, I LOVE Planet Box sets! They’re really simple to clean and hold up great! Plus, the different-sized compartments were wonderful lunch inspiration when I was stumped.
Fur Lap Desk
$26.99
I love these lap desks because they help kids sit wherever to complete homework. I have to separate my kids in different rooms at homework time or else they distract each other!
Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones
$194.95
My kids have these Beats headphones for doing computer homework. They are a game changer, and we use them on flights as well!
GapFit Tech Kids Joggers
$31.00
GapFit Tech sweats are my go-to for Major! I always stock up before the school year. They’re durable and comfortable, and we love the zip pockets!
Kids Hendrie Hoodie in Ice Blue
$48
We always order new Dudley Stephens hoodies before the start of the school year. They hold up so well wash after wash and they’re super cozy!
Girls' everyday leggings
$19.50
The Jcrew “Everyday Leggings” are Marlowe’s favorite. We get them in about 8 colors for the year!
Girls' short-sleeve heart-pocket T-shirt
$24.50
I stocked Marlowe up on some of these heart pocket T’s in both long and short sleeves for layering.
Ribbed Socks 7 Pack
$36
I always re-up on socks and underwear before school starts! These socks are the best!
Leather Low Top Sneakers
$68
Leather Low Top, velcro sneakers are a no-brainer! They hold up so well.
Bayfield Waterproof Recycled Packable Jacket
$52.95
Joules raincoats are my fave for boys and girls because they have great prints, and the inside is super cozy! I have passed unisex colorways down through all three kids!
Neon Rebels Ringo Relaxed Tee
$13.60
Neon Rebels has the cutest graphic T’s for boys and girls at a great price point.
Long John Pajamas In Organic Cotton
$48.00
I love these back-to-school pencil PJs! My kids’ Hanna jammies always hold up even after years of passing down.
Dr. Martens Kid's Collection
$74.98
These white Docs will take Marlowe from Fall all the way through Spring!
Cardigan In Combed Cotton
$46.40
I’m completely obsessed with these cardigans. I love how simple the chunky knit is, and all three colors are PERFECTION.
I want the fur lap desk for myself actually!!! I love all the items for boys and I definitely found some that will make my life and my boy’s life easier, like as simple as mechanical pencils🙂.
Really its very exciting for children’s.
