All hail a Mommy Cocktail! I saw a meme the other day that said “I didn’t realize before I had kids that when people told me how expensive kids are they meant all the wine I had to buy to survive it.” I almost spit out my latte I laughed so hard. Ain’t it the truth! In honor of Mother’s Day this weekend, I thought I would concoct a little cocktail with some pretty color, some bubbles, a nice hint of herbs to make it all super chic. I just flipped for the result! I’m calling this my Mommy Juice Cocktail because #MomLife deserves it.
Also how much better do we feel about our post-bedtime cocktail if it looks like a mixologist made it?! It looks like you’re slaying the Mom game, that’s what. And I promise it’s so easy to make. To all the Moms, the StepMoms, the Soon-To-Be-Moms, and the women trying tirelessly to become Moms. You are all MAGIC. I’m raising my glass to you, and I hope you all have a really beautiful weekend!
Ingredients…
- 1/2 cup Blackberries
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 bottle of prosecco (or champagne if you fancy)
- a few sprigs of thyme
In a saucepan, bring the blackberries, water and sugar to boil. Turn to low and simmer for 10 minutes until blackberries are soft. Strain the mixture with a fine mesh collander and let it cool. You can also throw it into the fridge for a few minutes to speed up the cooling process. Add a few tablespoons of the cooled mixture to the bottom of your glass and pour the prosecco over it. Top with a sprig of thyme and few leftover blackberries.
