I bet you didn’t know you needed a dessert cup that has tiny teddy bears bobbing up and down on pool floats this summer…but I’m here to let you know that you DO in fact need it. And you need it today. I wanted to make a fun dessert for the kids to mark the end of school and all the fun summer celebrations coming up! Major is officially off to Kindergarten as of today, and Marlowe is close behind: she graduates to Third Grade in exactly a week! I can’t believe where the time has gone. Third Grade in particular feels VERY grown-up. Maybe a little too grown up. I just keep thinking about that age-old saying people tell you: “You only have 18 summers with your kids”. It’s enough to make me sob in the middle of the grocery store even thinking about it. I truly hope my kids want to spend more than 18 summers with me…or at least partial summers?! Lord, PLEASE!
The good news is, I can still impress my kids with a cute dessert, and so cute dessert time it is! My kids are newly into Jell-O…maybe because it’s a cafeteria thing? I have no idea. I used to beg my parents for Jell-O as a kid because it was so “normal” and my family was, well, NOT. LOL. But we never really had it. Now, Jell-O holds so much nostalgia for me, and I knew that this cute little dessert cup with Teddy Graham bears “floating” in a pool would be so fun to make and delicious to eat! My kids (and the neighborhood kids) flipped for these when we made them. I highly recommend them! You can even make them the evening before and dress them at the last moment with the toppings. I can’t wait to hear if you make these, so please share if so!
Ingredients…
- 2 boxes of Berry Blue Jell-O
- 1 box of Honey Teddy Grahams
- 1 pack of LifeSavers Gummies
- 2 tubs of Cool Whip
Step 1:
Make the Jell-o
Follow the instructions on the box of Jell-O. Each box makes 3-4 Jell-O cups. For this recipe, we made two boxes of Jell-O. Once you make the Jell-O, pour them into plastic cocktail cups and place them in the refrigerator to solidify (typically anywhere from 2-4 hours).
Step 2:
Decorate and Enjoy!
After the Jell-O has cooled and solidified, you can now add the toppings. First, you will add the cool whip on top of the Jell-O, and then add the Honey Teddy Grahams and LifeSavers. Your Teddy Bear Picnic Dessert Cups are now ready to enjoy!
