Some of my favorite memories over the past year have been taking little road trips in and around Connecticut and the East Coast..exploring towns a stone’s throw away or further, and trying to find little pockets of wanderlust and joy even if it’s just a town over. Restaurants and hotels have taken such a hard hit during the pandemic that it’s also been important to me to contribute where I can to support those industries. Over the winter, Ian and I took a few little mini-trips, and every town we drove to we were really emotional seeing how grateful the small businesses in some of these smaller towns were to be seeing customers. Everyone was also SO respectful of COVID guidelines and I felt really safe. It reminded me that we are all in this together, even far after the vaccine. It’s so important to think about the small businesses that are struggling right now. And little getaways are a great way to invest in the local economy!
Traveling light is a personal skill of mine (and one of my passions—who wants to be bogged down with too much luggage?!) so today I thought I would share a little look at my Spring Getaway Wardrobe Capsule. These pieces are all you need to get outta-dodge in style, with some simple and fabulous looks you can wear again and again over the spring and summer seasons. I’ve put all the pieces below, first, so you can see what I love about each. Scroll down for the outfits and how I style them together!
Ruffle wrap top

This wrap gingham top in the most fun clementine and Fuschia combo is the perfect spring piece! It’s so comfy but also feels elevated enough to wear on a little getaway…and snap pics in!

This matching 3/4 sleeve sweatshirt is the perfect athleisure pairing for a weekend away. It’s cute AND functional, and you can wear it alone, or throw it on over a sports bra!
Beach Riot Tessa Top

I love this cropped workout top. The stripe is so retro and the colors are gorgeous!
New vintage cotton crewneck T-shirt
$29.50
This style is one of my go-to’s when it comes to T-shirts! I have it in nearly every color. An instant classic.
Essential Cashmere Mini Trapeze
$265
I love White + Warren cashmere, and this trapeze cardigan is so versatile and takes up next to no space in a suitcase. Plus, it’s surprisingly warm!
Hill House Home Sabrina Dress
$150
This dress is so ladylike and can work for either day or night, depending on how you accessorize. I love its longer length and how it makes it the easiest dress to wander around town in. Add tights for extra warmth or unbutton the bottom a bit to loosen it up!
Glamorous Ladies Dress
$79
Talk about a Little White Dress! This one is sweet and sassy at the same time. The open back is super pretty, and I love that it can be dressed down with flip flops in summer, or dressed up with a heel for a flirty dinner date!
The Court Sneaker
$98
I’ve been living in these sneakers recently. They go with absolutely everything and are so comfy!
Rothy's The Point
$145
These flats are made from recycled plastic AND washable! They’re the perfect travel shoe because you can just toss them in the wash once you’re home. This ecru colorway is super chic.
Castaner Bluma Crisscross Wedges
$160
These espadrille wedges are the chicest ever. and a classic Spanish brand. They go with everything and offer just the cutest peek of a painted toenail. I sometimes don’t find espadrilles very comfortable, but these truly are!
OUTFIT 1…
This is a great outfit for wine tasting outdoors, shopping in a quaint town, and even for driving a few hours. It’s ultra comfy but you will look very stylish upon arrival!
OUTFIT 2…
I always try to fit a workout in on my weekend getaways, even if it’s just a fun hike someplace local! This is a comfortable outfit to work out in, and then you can go out to breakfast after. This is also the BEST travel outfit if you’re spending lots of hours in the car.
OUTFIT 3…
This outfit is as classic as it gets! Timeless is never a bad thing. Throw on some aviator shades and a bomber jacket if the weather dictates!
OUTFIT 4…
So, technically this dress can be paired with any of the shoes I packed, but the wedges dress it up for a night out.
OUTFIT 5…
This is my sassiest weekend getaway LEWK! Intended to turn the boyf’s head and induce some serious romance! I also would DEFINITELY style this with the sneakers or flats. Depends on how comfy you are in a wedge!
I hope this goes without saying, but please also pack some ultra-chic pajamas for your getaway! Check out this blog post on spring pajamas for all of my current picks. Which outfit in this capsule was your favorite?
