By now, you are all well aware that skincare is my favorite method of self-care and a personal obsession. I love everything about taking care of my skin, starting with the ritual of it all…and ending with the results, of course! I wrote a blog post a while back about how I learned the importance of taking care of my skin from the women in my life growing up, and it’s something that is as much a part of me culturally as it is a part of my day-to-day. I love taking those five or ten minutes for just myself in the morning and at night. There are times, of course when the last thing I feel like doing at the end of my day is going through a skincare routine! But, I find that when I push through, I always look and feel more rested and glowing in the morning. I truly believe that caring for our skin is a worthwhile investment, as it has both physical and mental benefits. When we feel comfortable in our skin, we enter all areas of life with more confidence!
Today I thought I’d share what my skincare routine has been like lately. I’ll put my morning routine first, my nighttime routine second, and a small list of masks that I like to use at the end of the list. Let me know if you have any specific questions about any of the items I mentioned!
VTM Cream-to-Foam Cleanser
$65 (Use Code: Eva25EL for 25% off)
This cream-to-foam cleanser is FANTASTIC, and a fairly recent addition to my skincare routine. I love how it almost works like double cleansing by first melting away impurities with the cream aspect, and then I add some water and froth it into a lather that makes my skin feel SO clean without being dry.
Obagi Medical Professional-C Serum 20%
$142
My dermatologist suggested I go hard with the vitamin C serum, both for skin texture and tone and also to combat the melasma I got over the summer. She told me not to even mess with anything under 20% and told me that this one is the best. So far, I have noticed significant lightening, and my skin LOVES this product. Plus, it smells fantastic. I apply this directly after washing.
SkinMedica HA5 Hydra Collagen Replenish and Restore Hydrator
$144
When my skin needs an extra drink in the morning, I make sure to put a thin layer of this serum on next, which has both collagen and hyaluronic acid and really helps me glow. If I need a little contour that day, I use a gua sha stone to work it into my skin.
Restorative Eye Treatment with TriHex Technology®
$114
Next up, eye cream! I have been using this one for a couple of years now, and I love it.
Pro-Collagen Anti Aging Marine Cream SPF 30
$140
Now that we’re out of the summer months, I still put on an SPF as my last step…but a more moisturizing and less intense one that I do in the summertime. I have loved this Elemis version for a few years now. It also works great under makeup.
Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C
$24
This is the best lip balm, hands down! This is my favorite flavor, too.
Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
$69
If I’m wearing a full face of makeup, I’ll cleanse first with this collagen cleansing balm. I’ve been using it for years to melt away all my makeup and it really works!
VTM Cream-to-Foam Cleanser
$65 (Use Code: Eva25EL for 25% off)
Next, I cleanse! I’ve been using this Erno cream to foam cleanser at night time, also.
Instafacial® Plasma Bioactive Growth Factor Serum
$200
After cleansing, I do one of two methods. Every other night, I will use this incredible facial-in-a-jar plasma growth factor serum by Dr. Diamond. After just a couple of nights you definitely see a difference, and I am hooked!
Instafacial® Emulsion Retinpro Growth Factor Night Cream
$350
After the plasma serum, I always use this emulsion! This acts as a moisturizer for me, and I don’t need to put anything else over it. It plumps and firms my skin, and leaves my hydrated but never greasy.
Lactic Acid AHA Exfoliating Serum
$89
On the alternating nights, I will use this lactic acid serum after cleansing, to aid in gentle exfoliation. You want to apply this and then wait for about 10 minutes before applying your moisturizer.
Plush Cream Lightweight
$32.95
If I’m using the lactic acid serum, I will top it with this lightweight moisturizer afterward. It’s gel-based, so it never makes me break out.
Restorative Eye Treatment with TriHex Technology®
$114
My next step is always patting in an eye serum.
SkinMedica Neck Correct Cream
$101.25
Then, it’s time to take care of my neck! I love this cream by SkinMedica which is especially formulated to provide elasticity and combat fine lines and wrinkles.
Triple Acid Signature Peel
$125
Shani Darden really turned my acne skin around, and I used to get this exact peel in her office once a month. She has now packaged it, and you can do it at home! It’s a facial in a bottle, and instantly imparts the best glow. A must-try, in my opinion.
Masque de Radiance Brightening Moisture Mask
$150
This luxe, brightening mask is worth every penny. It’s great for mature skin, too!
Fermitif Chin Contour Instant Tightening Peptide Mask
$100
If you have “tech neck” double chin like I do, this chin contour mask is AMAZING for snatching the jawline before a special event or shoot.
Multi-Task Serum Eye Mask
$42 (Use Code: Eva25EL for 25% off)
These are hands down my favorite eye masks. They brighten up my eyes, and depuff, in just ten minutes!
Super Volcanic AHA Pore Clearing Clay Mask
$16
If I have a breakout, I always pull out this inexpensive clay mask. It stops my pimples in their tracks.
