Eva Amurri Martino pulls out dresses for her trip to Italy

After almost five years as a Mom, we are finally bringing our kids to Italy!  I grew up splitting time between New York (My Mom) and Rome (my Father), and Italy is such a huge part of my cultural fabric as a person.  I majored in Italian Studies at Brown, and grew up speaking Italian.  I even went to university in Italy for a semester! Having two kids in pretty quick succession, and growing my business the last four years, made finding a chunk of time to visit pretty challenging.  I’m so excited to say that I will be introducing my kids to my family in Rome and then heading to the coast for some fun in the sun! We can’t wait.

Rome will be pretty chockfull of family time and catching up– but once we head to the Amalfi Coast, real vacation mode will be settling in! I plan to just eat, drink, and sun-bathe my stress away for the entire two weeks.  I’m really excited to see how my kids like it there as well– Kyle and I are both Italian, so the country is definitely in their blood.  I can’t wait to have them experience the beauty of it for themselves!

At the end of our trip, Kyle and I are going to hop over to Croatia to watch one of my oldest friends get married.  It’s going to be really nice to get some adult party time in…I’m sure by then we’ll need it!

Whenever I pack for Italy, I tend to focus on bringing really elegant and classic clothing pieces that can transition easily from afternoon to evening.  The atmosphere there is so picturesque that it’s good to always feel photo ready.  For this, I love dresses and skirts! Since we’ll be on the coast, I’m also throwing in a great pear of denim cutoffs and some cute pants.  And Dolce-Vita-Inspired swimsuits are a must!

I haven’t been to the Amalfi Coast in over a decade…if you have any must-do beaches or restaurants please leave them in the comments below!

We just got back from our honeymoon in Positano! Definitely have to try Chez Black and Rada restaurants. Same owner, different vibes, but great taste and great views! We’re already planning our trip back. Can’t get enough of Spritz’s and limoncello candies.

So excited to follow along with you on this trip!! I MISS living in Italy so much! Go to La Tagliata for spectacular views and delish food! It’s waaaay up on the cliffs but they have shuttle service. Definitely make a reservation! Chez Black is casual and pretty touristy since it’s right on the beach, but it’s convenient and the food is tasty! And you probably already know about this, but a couple of times we took the ferry between Positano and Amalfi to just switch it up. You can even go to Salerno if you wanted. Just make sure to check when the last ferry leaves! LOL I’m so excited for all of you! This is going to be so special!! ?

So happy you are visiting Amalfi coast! I am originally from Naples and I usually spend my vacay in the area. My suggestions: best food for lunch after a boat trip Maria grazia in N’erano, they invented spaghetti with zucchine, the best. In Positano or better Laurito go to Adolfo. If you get the chance to visit Sorrento coast in Vico Equense there is la torre del Saracino and don Alfonso in Sant’Agata best restaurants in the area. Pastry shop:Fiorentino in
Sant’Agata try the santarosa is to die for. Shopping just buy nice sandals made to order on the spot 🙂
