I’m not quite sure why, but we almost never put the words “Mom” and “Style” in the same sentence.  I think we have all heard the terms Mom Jeans and Mom Haircut thrown around in a derogatory manner.  But why does it have to be that way? I know I personally feel like a Super Mom when I’m squiring Marlowe around in an outfit that I actually like and feel great in.  It gives me a pep in my step and makes the day seem more manageable.  And in reality it probably takes me about five extra minutes to figure out than sweat pants or workout clothes.  I hadn’t figured this out yet in the first couple months of having a baby, and  there was nothing that felt more demoralizing than putting the baby to sleep at the end of the (long) day and coming down the stairs to make myself dinner wearing the same outfit I had woken up in (only dirtier).  Try to “get dressed” at least one day a week and see if it helps you feel great.  And if you “get dressed” every day for work, try mixing it up a bit and surprise yourself!  There’s nothing wrong with feeling like a million bucks.  In this column I will choose my favorite outfit from the week, credits below.

This outfit took me from work meetings to a late afternoon play date.  I live in florals come spring time, and this dress has a black lace hem to give it a bit of an edge. I have the hugest crush on this jacket and wear it all the time– the green military fabric ends up looking like a neutral and works with a ton of outfits.  P.S. Did I mention how much I’m LOVING backpacks….

Sunglasses: Tory Burch
Jacket: Zara
Dress: Zara
Shoes: Tory Burch
Backpack: Tory Burch

Eva, Your blog is so interesting, artistic, creative and, you are so beautiful! You are also very very funny, like your Ma, and an excellent writer! Loved the baby tips, while traveling; my youngest grandson Luke is 4 mo’s older than Marlowe and your Mom is 4 mo’s younger than me. My daughter Melissa taught her Yoga in NYC. Ah it’s so nice to be connected! Looking forward to more of your posts and creativity. Luke just traveled ‘alone’ w/ his mama, to Lake Tahoe.. in the car to meet up with my son (his dad) for a family (on my ex’s side). I am gona send her your site, D in law is very creative and works at home doing interior design. xo Dorie
