One of my favorite things about the Holidays is the generosity of spirit that seems to be in the air.  While this time of year is famous for its gift-giving, fun festive parties, and delicious treats, it can also be a time of great challenge for those going without.  It’s important to me to find a way to give back during this time of year, and I wanted to share one of my favorite organizations with you.  No Kid Hungry is an non-profit working to alleviate child hunger in the United States. As a Mother myself, I was shocked and heartbroken to learn of how many children in our very own communities cannot count on consistent nourishment.

There are millions of kids in the “wealthy United States Of America” who are going to bed hungry at night, and waking up hungry in the morning.  When they go to school hungry, their education suffers and they are unable to achieve their full potential– not to mention the emotional toll that this takes on them every single day.

No Kid Hungry works within communities and schools to find at risk children and supply them with the meals they need.  They are working tirelessly every day to make sure these hungry kids can receive the care they deserve.  I was so moved by this cause, and I hope you will be too.
