Welp folks, we are finally at the age where my kids are obsessed with dressing up as superheroes. I knew we’d get here! LOL. My kids have seen very minimal super hero TV or movies of any kind, however, so I was very surprised when I asked them what they wanted to dress up as for **real** Halloween and they immediately answered “SUPERHEROES”! What made it even better is that they each had such a clear vision of who they wanted to be and who they wanted US to be. Us, meaning the adults in the family. Major definitely wanted to be Spiderman, which fits so perfectly with his personality. Marlowe wanted to be Batgirl, but in the regular Batman uniform, not a girly costume. She wanted a mask and to be very mysterious and scary. She wanted Ian to be Batman, but the vintage one. The kids decided that I needed to be Wonder Woman, and Kyle needed to be The Hulk. And then they picked Superman for Mateo!
I will say that my favorite thing in the entire world is seeing Mateo dressed up in his little Superman costume with the muscles…I can’t deal with it. Too cute! The jury is out on whether the kids will still be in to the superhero vibe for Halloween almost a month from now, but we shall see!
I’ve heard that once the superhero phase for costumes starts, it doesn’t stop. Have you hit the superhero halloween phase yet? Please share!
My girls are now 7 and 9 and even though they still love superhero’s they are finally onto other costumes!!!
Thank goodness, it lasted about 4 years and let me tell you trying to find a flash and iron man costume without muscles for the girls took a lot of work!!
hahaha we have the opposite problem! I got Marlowe this batman costume and she was like “How come major and mateo have muscles and I DON’T”. Rude. LOL
Hi hi! Everyone looks fab! Please share details on your grey boots. Many thanks
My fave new boots! Linking them here
I’m 37 y/o and I’m still in the superhero phase ? thanks to my work, I’ve been able to dress up in some fashion for costume parties, 5k, or something and I have a blast each & everytime
I love it! That’s so fun!
I never really did (although I was all about the Green Power Ranger) but my little brother did. And it’s true what they say, once they start, it doesn’t stop. My brother is now in his 30s and still obsessed. He got really excited because I started to watch Wandavision which meant I had to watch some of the MCU films. He’d been waiting his whole life for this moment ?
Hahah I love that. I wish I knew some more age appropriate superhero content. We’ve been watching Spiderman and the Spiderverse a lot but it’s still a littly iffy for a five year old
