The Martinos are quickly approaching colder weather! We have decided to take a long-overdue trip to New York City in November to visit with friends and family before the Holiday madness.  But, as a SoCal family, I can’t say we’re totally prepared for the shift in climate that an East Coast Autumn brings.   Skip Hop, a brand I have been using since Marlowe was an infant, was kind enough to send me two of their newest items– and they couldn’t have come at a better time!  The Skip Hop Stroll & Go Three-Season Foot Muff and the Duo Signature Diaper Bag (in “Hearts”) are easily some of Fall’s baby gear Must-Haves.

I happen to be a confessed diaper bag junkie, but this one by Skip Hop has stolen my heart in a major way.  Pun intended.  Let me start by the most obvious quality– it’s COOL! I want to wear this like a purse! I just adore the monochromatic heart pattern with the chic red accents.  I feel like this would be great for a girl or boy Babymama!

And of course I must wax poetic on its many functional qualities.  I just adore that the form of the bag is tall and deep, as opposed to wide and long.  It makes all the difference in being easy to carry and to organize.  The bag has tons of pockets, a stroller strap, a changing pad (crucial!), and even zips at the top! I can’t tell you how many times my diaper bags have rolled off of the passenger seat of my car, spilling all of their contents– or been vulnerable to a toddler searching through them for something she isn’t supposed to have.  No more!  I happen to be a Mom who packs all kinds of goodies in my diaper bag when I travel (tantrum ammunition) and so I really appreciate how much I can fit in this bag without it getting disorganized.

And speaking of travel, the Stroll & Go Three Season Footmuff is another must for Mamas and Babies on the go!  It attaches easily to your stroller seat, and is like a cozy travelling sleeping bag for your little one.  It adjusts for the seasons with just a couple simple modifications.  The second I zipped Lowie inside her Footmuff, she immediately seemed so relaxed, and got that content and sleepy glazed-over look that every Mom loves.  Next up– a Bedtime version, please!

I can’t wait to push Marlowe around New York City in her cozy cocoon.  I know it will buy me a lot of extra time walking, window shopping and chatting with my girlfriends– when baby is happy, Mama is happy!  Keep up the great work, Skip Hop!!

That Footmuff looks wonderful! I take 2 walks a day with my baby (mama needs to get out!), but we live on the east coast so I thought we would have to give up our walks during the winter. She’s too little for it now, but maybe next year.
On Snapchat you asked for video suggestions and I was hoping you might do a video or a post about making baby food. My daughter is 5 months old and she is now eating more than I can make and her doctor suggested it might be time for food. I’m a little overwhelmed. What tools do I need? Are there any books you recommend? Help!
    Thank you 🙂

      Kendra,
Yes, definitely too young for it now BUT when Marlowe was tiny last winter (and we were in freezing NYC) I just strapped her in to a baby carrier while I was inside, then put my coat over myself and zippered her in with me! Even if the walks you take are shorter, this is a great alternative to staying inside all day. You can tuck a scarf around your neck and around her too for a little extra insulation.
Thanks also for the great video suggestion! It seems quite a few people are in to the baby food, so I will certainly work on a video of that!

      Hi Emily,
This toy is actually by Skip Hop! I’ve had it since Marlowe was a month old. It’s kind of a rattle/chew toy type thing
