Started off with an inspiring visit to @mjthemusical , made over my husbands closet, witnessed a skeleton in my own home, omakase with my love, stole away for a date night at the new gorge Toki Row at @barclayscenter to see @spaceykacey, wrapped my first gifts of the season, and then sweetest family day with @matybuss and co. 💯

I grew up with my parents hosting tons of friends and family for pretty much every holiday, and I absolutely loved the energy and warmth it brought our household. It’s always been a goal of mine to create the same type of excitement for my own kids.

I truly do ✨love✨ hosting, and I don’t get as stressed by it as some people do. I think it’s because I’ve internalized so many tips over the years. From watching my own family host large gatherings growing up, to hosting my own starting at a super young age (I was always the one having dinner parties etc, even in college!), I really have the whole “gathering” thing down to a science.

I thought it would be fun to share some of my best Thanksgiving hosting tips today! Most of these tips can be transferred to hosting any large gathering, but they’re ones that I always keep in mind for Thanksgiving at my own home. I hope they’re helpful and make your time with family and friends even brighter...and more relaxing 😜

I’ve been an art lover all my life– and I’ve been collecting it nearly as long! I’m a firm believer in unique art being the ultimate finishing touch to your living spaces– and making them truly feel like home. I enjoy thoughtfully building my art collection so that each piece I own, and display in my home, has a special story and meaning behind it.

These pieces become like heirlooms for my kids– I love how they each have favorites, and create their own connections to them! The right piece of art really can spark immense amounts of joy. 🖼️

In terms of interior design, a great piece of art can transform a room, and bring a design from good to spectacular. I love the idea that the same passion and intention that was imbued in a piece by the artist can be carried into your space and bring such great energy. ☺️

Today I’m really excited because I get to do something I’ve never done before– Guest-Curate an art gallery! Let me start from the beginning on how I got involved in this fun project:

When I traveled to D.C. to take part in the lobbying for @march_fourth_ , I met @lizlidgett – an art expert, art consultant, and gallery owner from Des Moines, Iowa.

Liz actually has people who travel to her gallery in Iowa from all over the country just to check out the space and shop for art! Luckily for all of us, she also has a gorgeous online gallery space where you can peruse all of the super interesting artists and pieces she represents.

Liz and I had the best time during our D.C. trip and became fast friends, chatting about our mutual art obsession. When she reached out to me to curate a selection of pieces I love from her gallery, I jumped at the chance...
