Anyone who knows me would tell you that handwritten notes are kind of my thing.  I’m old-fashioned like that, and I feel that receiving mail that isn’t a bill or coupon catalog is one of the loveliest and most elegant surprises you can get.  I just adore beautiful stationery (choosing our Stationery Suite was my favorite part of my wedding prep!) and I think it’s just as important for Marlowe to engage in written correspondence.  Luckily for me, these days there are tons of stationery options to choose from for both Mama and Baby!

With Marlowe’s birthday just passed, we have been making sure to get her Thank You Notes in the mail for all of the amazing presents she received! She really is such a fortunate little girl, and I am very strict about her expressing her gratitude to the people who have taken the time, energy, and money to celebrate her.  For me, raising polite and kind children is the number one priority!  Below I have showcased some of my favorite elements of mine and Marlowe’s stationery collections:

Marlowe’s classic cherry monogrammed stationery has a sweet story behind it:  the morning after Marlowe was born, I lay in bed with her sleeping next to me, and designed her first Stationery Suite on the Tiny Prints website!  (Case in point how crazy I am about stationery) After choosing her full name, it was so magical to see those initials written out at the top of a card.  By a week later, I was in bed breastfeeding and filling out Thank You notes for all of the people who sent flowers and sweet Welcome Gifts!  Tiny Prints is still one of my Go-To’s for chic correspondence.

The next two options are more basic but still so elegant.  I love these simple and beautiful designs by Love, Luck, Kisses & Cake.  They are perfect for a longer, personal note, or even a condolence letter. The trademark, slightly shiny, robin’s egg blue envelopes are so pretty as well.  Also perfect as Thank You Notes from a brand new baby! This brand does out-of-control-cute note cards as well for dropping a line to your nearest and dearest!

The next few cards are Tiny Prints magic as well!  I love the more graphic HELLO card, as well as the cuter, sweeter scalloped edge card, depending on my mood.  For either, I recommend investing in a refillable fountain pen.  The writing looks so elegant, and really adds to the timeless quality of written correspondence.  I received mine as a Christmas gift from my dad, but you can find quality fountain pens in varying price ranges.  I recommend finding a store near you that sells them and trying them out in person!

And lastly, Marlowe’s Fill-In Thank You notes, by Tiny Prints!  I absolutely adore these.  They give you the opportunity for your kids to grow in to them (Soon Marlowe will be dictating to me what to write in the blanks!) and also teaches them about the writing structure of an appropriate thank you note.   She already loves decorating the flowers with colored pens.  I think the graphic design is so chic and not overly girly.

These are some of our favorite correspondence pieces, but I’m always on the lookout for great cards to add to my collection! Let me know in the comments section if there are any companies that YOU love!

Love this post! I personally fell in LOVE with Papyrus way back in 2000 while visiting the Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego. Check it out.
By the way, my 20 month old, Ari (nickname) trully enjoys watching Lowe on Snapchat.

  6. What a great practice, Eva. I love handwritten notes and have loved having stationary with my name on it since I was a child. I remember my mom making me sit down to write thank you notes as a child and it is something I still do today. I am so thankful my mom instilled this practice in me (before the digital age!!) and love seeing someone else also passing it on. MM

Brilliant ideas — especially the “fill in the blank” thank you cards for a child. That’s just what I need. I referred to this post today, after remembering when you posted it originally, as my little one has birthday gift Thank Yous to mail. You have beautiful taste and your choices in stationery are helping me think outside my usual (ho-hum predictable) design choices. Your ideas are so fresh, I look forward to your next post!

    • Hi Amelia!
That’s so nice to hear! I’m glad you like that idea, it really is helpful to make sure the children grow up learning how to write a proper thank you note!
And I’ve very happy to hear you liked this post, I’ll keep ’em coming! 🙂
