Talk about harmful chemicals is all over the place recently, and it’s enough to really freak a person out. But how many of our products do we really have to switch, and which ones are the most important? After reading up on it a lot, and speaking to a few nutritionists and docs in the field, the consensus is clear: If you can just make a few simple everyday product changes they should be your Household cleaning products, your body cream, and your lipstick.
Your skin is your body’s largest organ, and one through which we absorb many nutrients as well as harmful chemicals. You can buy natural cleaning products at Whole Foods, online, or even make them yourself. Body cream is easy– you can just get all natural coconut oil as a moisturizer! So yummy. But what about our lips? What about that pretty lip color that we’re basically eating every day– swallowing with every sip of our cherished latté? I’m not that fanatical in general, but all natural beauty products have been something that I’ve recently been very interested in– especially when I was pregnant. I think it’s good to replace those “every day in the makeup bag” lipsticks and glosses with ones that have less chemicals just for better piece of mind. And then swipe on whatever when you’re going out at night, or for a special occasion! Here I’ve showcased some of my favorite lip colors that are free of the yucky stuff, but still pack that glamorous one-two-punch!

Jane Iredale Lip Pencil, “Spice”: This pencil is made with conditioning oils and waxes, and contains no FD&C dyes. I love the nude color, and use it as a neutral base for lipstick, or alone for a super natural lip look.
Honest Beauty Sheer Lip Gloss, “Dreamy Kiss”: This gloss is made without parabens, pthalates, parafins, gluten, silicones, mineral oil, or synthetic fragrance. I like how easily it glides on the lips– not at all sticky. This light rosy nude is perfect for daytime.
Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick, “Peace”: This luxurious-feeling lipstick is formulated without parabens, phthalates, sulfates, gluten, GMOs, Synthetic fragrance, synthetic dyes, and is not tested on animals. And it still seriously delivers. This lipstick is so rich and creamy, and their color selection is outstanding. I am loving this pinkish beige so much right now!
Mineral Fusion Sheer Moisture Lip Tint, “Glow”: This glossy stick is paraben free, phthalate free, talc free, artificial color free, fragrance free, and hypoallergenic. And it’s the greatest pop of pink! The color glides on easily and can be layered for more powerful color.
Hourglass Panoramic Longwear Lip Liner, “Muse”: Like the Hourglass lipstick, this pencil is free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, gluten, Synthetic fragrance, and is not tested on animals. This megawatt coral color is AMAZING. I use this to line and fill in my lips, and spread it with the accompanying lip brush at one end of the stick. The result is a matte finish that really stays!
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Lip Stain and Shine, “Berry Bliss”: This formula is infused with coconut water and argan oil, and is free of parabens, gluten, synthetic fragrance, and is vegan and not tested on animals. The stain is great on its own, but I like to layer the gloss over it for a rich and shiny super berry lip! I can’t wait to wear this color throughout the holidays!
