Eva Amurri shares her favorite denim

I’ve been a Blue Jean Baby all my life. In fact, one pair of jeans that I had in high school (I think they were Levi’s) I wore so many times, and washed so many times, that they became as soft and worn in as leggings. They were SO fabulous. Then I had a klepto roommate at one point, and they ended up disappearing. That’s a story for another time, but I mourned the loss of those jeans almost more than the money she stole. YOU CAN’T JUST BUY ANOTHER PAIR OF PERFECT JEANS, BITCH!!!! Or, can you?

Ever since my teens, I’ve been on the hunt for perfect denim. Denim is an interesting thing, because you can find the exact “same” fabric for sale at $300 per pair from one brand and $80 from another brand. Quality is key of course, but so is the cut. I have found absolutely incredible jeans for under $100 that I have worn to death and still LOVE. I think there’s a place for both in your closet, and today I thought I would share the absolute best pairs of denim that I own and treasure. The below pairs are all STARS in my closet. They each serve a different purpose, they’re at all different price points, and believe they all deserve a try. You might just find your favorite new pair!

My Favorite Denim

High-rise slim wide jean in 1996 semi-stretch

$102.50

I got these jeans over the summer and they became an instant fave. I’m wearing them in these photos, by the way. The denim is super luxurious and dark raw, almost like a Japanese denim. I love how they have minimal stretch and really hold their shape.

Ashton High Rise Wide Leg Flare

$268 (Use Code EVAA15 for 15% off)

I’ve never gotten more comments and questions on jeans than when I’m wearing these. They’re on the pricier side (I got a discount code for ya!) but totally worth it. I sized up. The flare is SO flattering, and they come in multiple washes.

Stretch Terry Patch Pocket Pant

$168

These are my go-to “comfy jeans”. The stretch and softness of the fabric are incredible, and I love the 70’s style front pockets. The high rise is very flattering!

High Rise Stride Wide-Leg Jeans

$79.95 (40% off at checkout)

These are my most recent go-to pair. The black is not harsh, and the fit is so cool, almost like a trouser. Plus, the price is right!

Horseshoe Jeans

$208.50

Horseshoe jeans are polarizing, I get it. I got these to try the trend and absolutely fell in love. The denim is perfectly worn in, and the fray at the bottom is elevated, not messy. If you like barrel jeans, this is THE pair!

Ribcage Wide Leg Jeans

$98

If you want the perfect casual jeans with rips in them, this is THE pair. Size up 1-2 sizes for the ultimate cool girl vibes.

Dark Wide Sweep Trousers

$158

This jeans are so elegant! And perfect for dressing up. The extreme wide leg is very flattering, and dresses up or down beautifully. I love the trouser style waistband and pockets.

The Colette Cropped High-Rise Wide-Leg Jeans by Maeve

$130

The Colette pant is a Queen in my closet (I have her in every fabric imaginable), but the denim version is a must if you haven’t tried it yet. I also love that they come in so many styles, including standard, petite, plus, tall, and adaptive. There is truly a fit for everybody.

The Scooter Ankle

$278

This is one of my favorite denim brands, and this style is the perfect intro one for newbies to the brand. The slight flare at the bottom creates a beautiful shape without really reading as a “flare”, and the washes are all gorgeous.

The Brut Sexy Straight Leg

$125

Everything Sézane touches is cool, including their denim. If you’re a straight leg denim girlie, this pair is for you. They are so effortlessly chic, and you can feel the quality when you wear them. I recommend sizing up. I love this ecru color, but honestly, all the washes are fabulous.
