I love exploring Los Angeles with Marlowe. I try to schedule some time away from work once a week to do something out of the ordinary with her. One of my favorite local kids’ activities is visiting the Museum Of Natural History. It’s awesome– especially for kids who are animal-crazy. ( So many animal exhibits! Beware the gift shop!) During the summers, The Museum Of Natural History opens their Butterfly Pavilion, and the experience is magical for small children.
Marlowe just happens to be the tiniest bit on the young side for this– I think it’s best when the children can run around on their own and follow the butterflies around– but she loves it nonetheless. It’s really a beautiful thing to watch her take in the butterflies as we wander around the pavilion. She also has a mild obsession with flowers, so the environment is perfect for her– there are gorgeous bushes of flowers and archways throughout– an amazing family photo opportunity if you plan ahead! I will mention that the pavilion is outdoors (but enclosed) so try to avoid super hot days! If you haven’t been and want to go, make it snappy: the exhibit only runs until September 7th, and you must purchase tickets ahead. Enjoy!

My daughter is 6 months and I’d love to hear more of your baby and toddler tips and tricks! Like tips for taking baby out and about and things to do during the day, your favorite clothing and accessories for her, and a day in the life post would be awesome!
Hi Julie!
Thanks for the feedback! I think this guest-editor blog post I did would be right up your alley…
