A (Big) Martino Move

Well, we have some pretty big news today. It’s been brewing for a while, but there were so many moving parts that I thought I would wait until we were 10000% sure before I laid it all out on the table: After a lot of consideration, some tears (mine) and a mountain-load of logistics, Kyle and I have decided to move our family permanently to Connecticut! The California Martinos have migrated!Read More
Eight By Eva: Leslie Bruce
Sometimes you meet another Mama out someplace, without children in tow, and yet within ten minutes somehow get to the essence of who they are as a parent and as a person because it just radiates out of them like a unicorn horn. To me, this is the mark of true authenticity in a person, and I am always drawn to people who wear their “vibe” on their sleeve, so to speak. When I met this month’s subject of Eight By Eva at a mutual friend’s wedding, we immediately got down to brass tacks and realized that we are kindred Parenting Spirits– I am SO excited to feature her today and give you some insight in to this Powerhouse Mama!
Leslie Bruce is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and an award-winning entertainment journalist. Most recently, she collaborated with Lauren Conrad on the bestselling entertainment book, Celebrate. Peace Of Mind With Owlet Baby Care

In the days following Marlowe’s birth, I was a hot mess. My hormones were dipping, I was exhausted, and I had zero idea what I was doing– which for a Type-A personality is a major disaster. Every little decision and newborn detail stressed me out and made me nervous. As a first time Mama, I felt like I had a million questions and no straight answers. How could I know if I was doing something correctly? The worst of these, of course, was putting her to sleep. I can’t even tell you how many sleepless nights (and nap times!) I had, jolting awake and creeping over to her bassinet to make sure she was still breathing. I would even lay my hand on her chest and tummy to make sure– which would often wake her up and start a total circus. I wasn’t sleeping nearly enough because of my fears, and I know now looking back that it really contributed to my postpartum experience being so stressful. With my Baby Boy due in just a few months, I’m so relieved to say that I’ve finally found Owlet Baby Monitor to give me peace of mind (and a much more restful sleep!)Read More
Prepping For A Homegrown Independence Day

The Fourth Of July is just around the corner, and we are getting prepped and ready in the Martino household! Independence Day has always been one of my favorite holidays– I just adore Summer in general, and celebrating this special day in our history always brings back such fond warm-weather memories from growing up and beyond. I love the flag colors (red, white, and blue are such a bold and beautiful combination), I love the traditional barbecue food (Hotdogs 4 Lyfe), and I really really REALLY love Fireworks! Since we are living in a small little town this Summer, I’m getting especially revved up to celebrate the holiday locally and create some fun and exciting homegrown memories that Marlowe can cherish for a lifetime. BabyMoon Essentials: Packing For A Preggo Romance

It’s happening, People!! It’s happening. Kyle and I are taking our first trip alone together in…a very long time. Want an idea of how long? The last time we went someplace by ourselves (ie, no kids, no friends, no family) I was carrying a little extra weight in my uterus by the name of Marlowe Martino. Yes, we are long overdue for alone time. For our Babymoon last time, we went to Monarch Beach in Southern California. This time, we’re packing our bags and heading to Bermuda!!!! Read More
Herb-Steamed Fish In Parchment Paper

I just love steaming fish in parchment paper during the Summer months. It’s such an elegant yet simple meal, and the packaging creates a Pinterest-worthy packet that makes a big impression on any dinner guests you may have! A beautifully seasoned piece of fish is so healthy, and the way this is prepared really brings out the flavor of the fresh herbs. Even Marlowe gobbles this down when I make it for dinner! Make the packages for this Herb-Steamed Fish dish in the morning, or even the night before, and toss them in the oven for a quick and easy meal. Serve alongside a crusty loaf of bread to soak up the yummy sauce and pair with a crisp and ice-cold bottle of White Wine!Read More
DIY Relaxing Lavender Bath Bombs

I need to relax. For REAL. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends recently in a major way (a fun Blog surprise is right around the corner!) and in between work, family commitments, and my pregnancy, I feel like my head is almost ready to spin around on my body and fall off. Let’s not allow that to happen, shall we? So I thought I’d inspire myself (and you!) to decompress a little with a super simple DIY project that will have you breathing a sigh of relief in no time. I love taking baths with a Bath Bomb thrown in, because besides being a super fun experience to watch it fizz up (it reminds Sober Sally over here of a yummy glass of champagne!) these bath treats often contain salts and essential oils that are beneficial in helping you unwind. These DIY Relaxing Lavender Bath Bombs also make excellent gifts or shower goodies, and all the ingredients are 100% safe for Preggo Mamas!Read More
